Kim Solari

Kim Solari is the co-owner of Therapy Works of Southwest Louisiana and has over 30 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a diverse range of therapeutic environments.  She was born in Wichita Falls, TX and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. She has worked in New Orleans, Dallas and Lake Charles and has built her career working in the following settings: acute care, in and out patient rehab, hand rehabilitation, NICU, CCU/ICU in several hospital settings, as well as Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center.

SPOTS in Dallas - Kim established a pediatric outpatient therapy clinic which she operated for 14 years. The clinic provided OT and PT services to children infancy through adolescence at two sites and was eventually sold to a longtime employee.  The clinic continues the mission envisioned by Kim over 20 years ago to provide an excellent therapeutic service.

Certifications & Mentorship - Kim served as a member of the advisory panel to TWU-Dallas OT student admission board. She is certified in the S.O.S. Oral Sensory Approach to Feeding developed by Kay Toomey and Dr. Erin Ross as well as certifications in the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT), Therapeutic Listening and Integrative Listening System, Interactive Metronome and The Print Tool by Handwriting Without Tears. Continuing her quest contribute to the betterment of the therapeutic community as a whole, she has recently completed the Level 1 intensive Mentorship through the SPD Foundation. She along with other colleagues initiated and developed a feeding program and handwriting camp at St Nicholas Center for Children, where she was the first Occupational Therapist employed by SNC and enjoyed working for over 7 years.

Kim’s approach to therapy is a product of her wide range of experience with children and families in both individual and group settings. Her areas of experience include helping children with developmental, sensory processing and feeding issues improving their functional skills and independence.  Most importantly, Kim loves children and found her perfect occupation over 30 years ago. As the saying goes “Follow your passion and you will never work a day in your life.”

For recreation and relaxation, Kim enjoys reading and playing tennis.  She is a regular member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Kim has been married to her husband Mike for over 30 years, they have raised two amazing boys and have a wonderful daughter in law all who live in Ft. Worth, TX.  Their most recent and proudest moment is meeting their granddaughter Chloe who brings incredible joy to their lives.
