Ratna Patel

Dr. Ratna Patel is co-owner of Therapy Works, Lake Charles. Ratna is passionate about helping children develop independent functional movement skills using effective evidence-based family centered treatments. She has more than 30 years experience in pediatric physical therapy.  

Ratna completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from MSU, India, Master’s degree in Developmental Disabilities from NYU and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from ATSU, Arizona. Among other trainings, Ratna has completed the 8-week NDT certification course as well as training/certification in SI, orthotics, TMR, Brain Gym, and MFR.  She is committed to engaging in continuing education courses that benefit her clients.

In New York City, she worked at United Cerebral Palsy, Inc, and in several hospital settings for children. In Massachusetts, she worked at an early childhood program for 5 years evaluating and treating 0 – 3 year-old kids. Subsequently, she worked in Massachusetts’s public school settings for 17 years, leading the therapy team, collaborating with students’ IEP teams, and providing direct services.

In Lake Charles, she has worked at the St Nicholas Center for 6 years treating children for Autism & Developmental Delays. Ratna has worked with adults at Christus St. Patrick hospital as well as in other locations.  Thus, she has worked in a variety of environments that include private clinics, public schools, early intervention (0-3-year-old children) programs, and pediatric hospital settings including NICU, inpatient, and outpatient clinics. Ratna has been privileged to work in diverse geographical locations including Massachusetts, New York, India, and Lake Charles, LA. She is very excited to partner in a new venture with Kim Solari, LOTR to serve children with a variety of diagnosis at Therapy Works. Lake Charles, LA.
